As part of a failed attempt to catch another CP leader, we did get a few trains while out waiting. This clip shows us spotting an eastbound Union Pacific stack from the harbor passing through Mission Mill Rd near Industry, CA.

6/2/24 Pre: UP ZLCLT detours through El Monte station With the Valley sub partially closed for track work, the usual Valley sub runner UP ZLCLT had to once again detour through El Monte via the Alhambra sub and Palmdale Cutoff(kinda like the semi-counterpart, ILTLB).     If this is because of the 6th street bridge, the SW chief should have gone through the same corridor with the Riverside Line so it would make it through Riverside station instead of skipping that station

    Bad News: on my trip to Knott’s Berry Farm and after we left we stopped at McDonald’s but they remodeled it and they removed the trains layout

      Yeah. It became one of the many dull modern McDs sadly. Luckily, they visited there right before they closed near the end of 2023 but was pretty bare model train wise. Was torn down about a week or so after.

    At this point, i wish they would make el monte an actual stop. They could either pave a basic asphalt platform or have the train stop at the grade crossing for passengers.

    The Poway Midland Railroad is about 2 blocks from my house and it is a staple of classic poway. The Baldwin 0-4-0 narrow gauge locomotive was originally an 0-4-0-T but they added the tender and about 5-10 years ago they replaced the boiler

      Also this week, Amtrak 3, I think…I’m not sure if it’s tomorrows one or Tuesday’s, but it will have 207 and 164 together, 207’s repaint got delayed as a couple P42’s are still in line awaiting the repaint.
